What would you say...

...if you thought it might be the last thing that someone heard?

Would you take a moment and put some thought into it?

If it was your dear friend, life partner, family member...

...would you say "I love you"?

If it was the checker at the grocery store, the teller at the bank...

would you say, "thank you, and have a nice day"?

If it was your neighbor or the person standing next to you in line at the dry cleaner,

would you say "hello, it's nice to see you?"

Just for today, let's behave as if everything we say is the last thing that the recipient will hear.  Let's fill our words with kindness, our actions with joy.  Just for today.

And then let's treat every day, just like it's today.

Make it a good one, friends!

xoxo, Anita

  1. That's a good philosophy. At risk of sounding like an old fogey, it seems like pleasant greetings used to be commonplace, just part of everyday courtesy. I probably am *too* friendly because I try to overcome other people's unfriendliness. It often surprises me when people (especially in business) can't even crack a smile. It makes me sad for them.

  2. I'm with you. Be kind, you never know what is going on in someone else's life.

  3. sweetness:)
    thanks for the powerful reminder,

Dear friends,
Thank you for taking the time to comment! ! I want this to be a space of free and open dialog, within the boundaries of respect and basic human kindness. Whether we are in agreement or not, all comments will be published so long as they meet that requirement.
